Who we are
Our background is in corporate finance, quant trading, and investment management across Asia and the US. The kind of experience that turns out to be useful when you need to know what actually matters in a 13F filing or an options chain.
We got into AI because we kept finding things that would have saved us weeks of work ten years ago. Now we write about it, build tools around it, and teach others how to use it.
What we're building toward
Two years ago, nobody in finance was talking about LLMs. Now every bank has an AI strategy deck and half of them are useless. The actual work of figuring out where these tools help (and where they don't) is happening outside the big institutions, mostly by people who are willing to try things and write about what happens.
That's what we do here. We want VQA to be the place you check when you want to know what's actually working in AI and finance, without the press release version.
